So proud of him!

Matthew and I went to the spring  Colorado intramural martial arts tournament.   He did awesome and finished second in forms for his age group and he had a lot of fun doing his first sparing part of the tournament too.  I participated and was glad I didn't get my butt totally kicked in sparring.

So proud of my Matthew!  Way to go big guy!

Happy 40th to me!!

I can not believe that I am 40 years old!  Wow how did this happen.  I can't thank Maddie and Kris enough who helped the boys color an awesome sign and got me candy, beer and flowers.  I also was so touched by the flowers I got from my husband, and friends and family.  I felt so very loved that day.

There is a Y in the sign you just can see it.  : )  Matthew did a great job coloring and staying in the lines! Guess which part Ethan did?  : )

Then as if all the flowers weren't enough... my friend Deb insisted on taking me out the weekend after my birthday and it was all very strange but.... we ended up at a beed shop and my mom had put together a surprise party for me!!!  I was so incredibly touched and so honored that all of my amazingly busy friends found the time to come.  And I can thank my mom enough for putting so much time and energy into putting this all together!  I have the best mom ever!!!!!  She made all the food her self and it was AMAZING!!!  We made jewelry and it was a real blast!  Thank you Mom for the amazing memories and for a fantastic night!!!

Both Matthew and Willoughby crawled into my bed the other morning and snuggled...Matthew loved it... I'm not so sure about Willoughby. 

I can't say that I have ever seen two dogs spoon before... I guess there is a first for everything. 

The chaos

Life has been so busy and crazy that I am still posting pictures from back in May.  Oh well, better late than never I guess.

 Matthew is so happy to have his "very own" dog.  We took Dilbert to Petsmart to get a new leash and collar and it is so obvious how much he just loves going out.

We realized one day... Hmmm.... who is going to let Dilbert out during the day while we are at work?  So we put in some dog doors and Kris made us a fence so that we had a Dog Run Dilbert could access while we are away.   I was amazed at how quickly he built it and put it up!  thanks Kris!!

I think someone is super happy to have Dilbert home.  What do you think?

Yes I really can take three dogs and two kids under 5 all for a walk at once.... I really am super mom!

Jeff came to pick up Willoughby for their week with him (we co-raise him) and all three dogs wanted to go with him. 

Dilbert loves our porch so much that he will even lay out on it in the rain.... so strange.... maybe with all that fur he doesn't know its raining.

I came up to go to bed and ..... not one of these three boys is suppose to be in my bed.... but more importantly.... where am I suppose to sleep?

Dilbert!!!!

I got the most wonderful phone call in early May.   Our guide dog leader was calling me to see if I would be interested in taking back Dilbert.  He was being retired due to some sort of gate rate miss match or something.... Don't really get what was the exact reason but I didn't really care!

Guide dogs will re-pair a dog with a new partner up until they are four.  Dilbert turns four in June and after the fiasco of them accidentally giving Vigo to another family after he was retired I think they decided Dilbert was close enough to four.

 I couldn't be more excited!!! We have been looking for a dog for Matthew as he keeps saying he wants a puppy that we don't have to give away.  Well now he has his very own well trained and very cute retired guide dog.  Dilbert Couldn't be more perfect for us! Of all the dogs we've raised he is by far one of my favorites!!!

Welcome home Dilbert!!!! We are over the moon excited to have you home!!!!

Dilbert seemed to know where he was when we pulled into our street.  I didn't pick him up at the airport- a friend did.  So when he got to our house he was super excited to see us! 

He went running into the house and ran in circles.  He quickly ran through the house looking for me.  Poor guy had to wait all afternoon for me to come home for work.  I bet he was a bit confused.  "this is the house I remember.... but where are my people?"

Our three puppies!!! Really never planned to have two guide dog puppies and a retired dog all at once but oh well, the more the marrier right?

Words can not express how happy I am to have my best fuzzy bud dilly back home!!

What do you do when you have three smelly puppies that all need baths??  Why, just put them all in the shower at once of course.  The Kaplun Puppy Salon and Day Spa at its finest.
