Cherry Blossom Festival

A good friend of mine and I went to Washington DC for a conference and it just happened to coincide with  the Cherry Blossom Festival.  The conference starts tomorrow so we spent today in the blossoms and visiting the new MLK memorial and FDR memorials.  It was sunny and 85 and everything was gorgeous.  Below are a few pictures from the day.

Take a deep breath of that!  Peace!!

If only we followed the FDR quote.

Random Shots

At the park, Matthew just wanted to push his stroller.

Matthew doing "up dog" again on his sled in the kitchen.

"ride'em cowboy!"

Check out that goose egg on his forehead!!!  He fell off a chair straight onto his head.  I think it hurt me more than it did him.
Keep reading below for another posting of a hike we did last weekend.

Visiting Friend

A friend of mine was in town and I took her and Matthew up to Emerald lake.  Below are some pictures of the event.

Beautiful view on the way up.

Mother and Son enjoying a beautiful day!

Dream Lake

I actually fell through the ice to take this picture but it was worth it.  And it wasn't that deep I only ended up soaked to mid calf.

Say cheese

"Careful Matthew, Don't fall in like Mommy!"

Matthew's version of "up dog"

"yummy snow!!!"

A reality shot... A screaming very tired Matthew.

Matthew finally fell asleep about five minutes from the end of the hike.

Trouble

She may be constantly in trouble.... But how.... Can you not love that face!

Outside

Matthew and I took his favorite toys out in the back yard to play tonight. Notice while he is riding his toy petunia is in the background checking out matthew's big ball.

So cute

Last night at our monthly guide dog puppy meeting we worked on trying to keep the puppies from chasing balls and distractive toys. I snapped the below picture of maybell... I Iove how she is looking across the room at her raiser and sweetly begging for permission to grab the toy.

Last Week's Hike

Last week I went snow shoeing again on my day off.  It was a beautiful cloudy day but wasn't very cold.  I forgot my camera but I did snap a few photos with my phone.  I absolutely love living where beauty like this is only minutes away!

That's me.. the small speck out in the middle of Mills Lake.

My friend Nenette after just climbing up the frozen waterfall behind her.

A fun weekend

This winter has been terrible for skiing.  We just haven't gotten much snow.  Because of this, Alex and I haven't gone to the mountains all the much.  This weekend however, I just couldn't wait any longer and we went to Keystone despite not great snow.  Below are a whole bunch of pictures from the weekend.

Alex and Matthew waiting in line for the Gondola to go up to play in the Ice Fort.

Matthew was mesmerized by all the people in skies and with Boards.

Matthew and I in the Gondola.

Matthew and I with the Keystone Puppy at the top.

Matthew and I at the top of the mountain... such a beautiful view!

The Snow Fort

Matthew exploring the tunnels in the fort.

He loved all of the tunnels!

Matthew kept walking around saying... "snow, snow, snow"

They had a slide built into the fort and of course Matthew had to slide on it over and over again!  He loved it!

Matthew loved sitting on the walls.

Smile!!

He spent a good bit of time on his tummy... it was slippery up there.

Here comes Matthew

On our way back to the car Matthew pointed to a Buffalo statue and really wanted to sit on it.

"Yeah!!!"

View from the Gondola... Take a breath of that!

Pictures I took while skiing on Saturday.

Again... view of the mountains while skiing on saturday.

All good things must come to an end... we had to head home.  Matthew loved riding on the luggage carrier.

Poor Matthew woke up with a high fever today and by the time we got home this is all he wanted to do... lay on his fuzzy blankets and suck on his "Binky".  Poor guy!
