Bump Update

Since many of my closest friends live on the east coast and can't see how big my belly is getting, I thought I would post a few pictures that alex took to show how things are progressing.  I am now 5 1/2 months (22 weeks).

Oh the joy of pregnancy clothes.

Every one at works thinks I am really small but I am actually measuring a bigger than I am suppose to.

I really don't like this shot but alex said since this was the shirt I was wearing in the last picture he took (at about 15 weeks) that I should put this on for comparison.

nap time

Antony isn't too much of a snuggler, but sometimes I really want to snuggle with him.  Last night after a long day at work I laid down on the floor on his little mat and curled up with him.  It normally only lasts a few minutes before he gets hot and moves, however, last night I feel asleep with my head on his back.  Alex snuck out and took a photo.  The flash popping up woke anthony right up but I didn't wake until the flash actually went off.

Puppies make for great pillows.

Great gifts

So not only have we gotten lots of cool stuff from my parents but this past week some of patients have given us stuff too.
One of my most favorite patients of all times made this amazing blanket for me.  It's cross-stitch and I can only imagine how long it took her to make it.  It is absolutely gorgeous!!  I love it so much that I am thinking of using it as a wall hanging and putting it up as the center piece of the nursery above the crib.  The outfit has little bear feet which is just too cute and the book is one of my favorites from my own childhood!  What an amazing gift from and amazing person!

One of my very special patients brought me a two pound chocolate rabbit for easter.  It is well over two feet tall.   I have no idea how I will be able to eat it all.

This wasn't from a patient but rather from a friend.  It was made by an artist in portland.  It has a beautiful saying on it and I plan to frame it and hang it in the nursery.

Grandparents rock!

To say that my parents are excited about soon becoming grandparents would be a huge understatement.  They seem to be overjoyed.  During their visit last week they showered us with fantastic clothes for our little one.    I am so proud of my mom, she has been scouting the sales and hasn't paid more than 5 dollars for anything.  Most outfits she got for only $2.  Way to go mom!!

Baby clothes are way too cute!!!

These are all used clothes that my mom was able to get for free!  Free stuff rocks!

This is my favorite outfit by far!  It has a demon decon image on the back.  I think this is the only one my mom bought that was more than 5 bucks, but I love it.  The shoes are just way too cute!

Room makeover

Ever since we moved into our house over two years ago, our front room has sat empty.  In preperation for the baby we moved our fouton with its horendous cover down to the front room.  With a small budget I got a new cover, used paintings by a friend and made some pillows.  I pulled some stuff from other rooms and it almost looks like a room now.  While I was making the pillows, Anthony of course had to help.

Anthony kept laying on the fabric I was trying to cut out.

The finished product.  It looks better in real life and during the day.

official US pictures

Last week Alex, my parents (who were here visiting) and I all got to go together to my official US.  It was so much fun to get to watch our little one moving around.  It was also a huge relief to get the news that everything looks perfect.  Oh, and our suspicions were right.... it is a boy.... no doubt about it.  Alex won't let me post the pictures of his boy parts on the blog, can't blame him I guess.  At least now we don't have to return all the boy clothes my mom has gotten us.

There were a lot better face shots on the DVD she gave us but this was the only one we got printed out.

Profile shot.

Oh, the decisions!

Alex and I scored, thanks to my dad, some great coupons to Baby's R Us.  They didn't last long so we felt we better go put them to good use on some big items.  So saturday night we went to pick out a stroller and car seat.  Most customers came in, looked at the strollers, picked one and left in under 20 minutes.  Not us.... we were there for nearly 2 1/2 hours trying to pick one.  There were just so many choices and none of them were perfect.   We were both so tired by the end that I really didn't care which one we got.   And poor Anthony, who has now been in this store so many times in the past week that every clerk greets him by name when we enter.

"What??? We have to go shopping, AGAIN? "

Poor Anthony has been on so many outing this past week that I am afraid he might go on strike soon.  He is such a "boy".  He loves to go on outings but is never thrilled about hard core shopping.

He was such a good boy!!  While we shopped he just sat and watched us.  He didn't seem to understand why we kept pushing different strollers by him or why we would ask him to walk next to it to see how it worked with a puppy.  I think he thought we were pretty nuts!

After about 2 hours he finally just curled up and went to sleep, poor little guy.

And after all the fuss, we ended up picking the stroller and car seat that matched our pack and play.  How silly!

How things change....

Alex's birthday was last month and mine is in a few weeks.  Typically we use our birthdays as an excuse to get fun new stuff for ourselves.  However, this year with a baby on the way our priorities changed.  We pooled money from respective parents and got the following stuff....   and you may ask, but don't you miss getting stuff for yourselves, not at all!

We have small cars so we finally broke down and got a roof top carrier so we could fit baby stuff and skies together in the car.
This is one of the only things that Alex has gotten off of Craig's list that has been great.  We got it for half of what a new one would have cost and it was never used and doesn't have a scratch on it.  Way to go Alex!

While my parents were here they helped us pick out a pack n' play for their gift for us for our birthday's

Anthony was not quite sure what to make of this monstrous thing, or the stuffed animal my parents bought us that makes noises.

No Respect

My parents are here visiting this week and they brought lots of goodies for the baby.  I just couldn't resist putting a couple of the bibs on Anthony.

What a cuttie!

The hat lasted about 3 seconds.
