Challenging Dilbert

Dilbert is the sweetest puppy but when it comes to guide dog stuff he is a bit of a challenge? We had his big evaluation this past week and he did not do well to say the least.  Barb said he was one of the most manipulative and stubborn puppy she had seen.  She spent 20 minutes trying to get him to do "down" and he just basically gave her the puppy version of the middle finger.  He won't do anything that you tell or ask him to do unless it is worth it to him.

He is now on food protocol for EVERYTHING!  Crazy.  He's so sweet and calm but so stubborn.  We have been doing most of his meals now in the form of foot rewards and it is working pretty well.   I still will take this kind of challenge over a super high energy dog any day.

How can this cute little puppy be so stubborn?

I think Dilbert is trying to learn to do Jedi mind tricks..."You do not see the peanut butter jar in my mouth.  This is not the Jar you are looking for."

catch up

I've been so busy lately that I haven't done much blogging.  So I thought I would do one big post with lots of pictures.

Naughty Dilbert.... chewed up a thing of ribbon.

Spring in Colorado is full of unexpected small snows.  After grocery shopping Matthew had to help me clean and shovel off the car.

Mamma's big helper

A cold morning in Loveland at the ice sculpture show - he loved grandpa's hat!

We had lunch at the Denver Aquarium one day.  Matthew loved looking at all the big fish.
"you aren't eating one of my friends are you?"

"I like this one mommy!  Dinosaurs!!"

We made cookies and iced them... I think Matthew ate more icing than he put on the cookies.

yeah, some icing is making it on to the cookies.

A box is such a great toy!

I'm ready for the "big Blizzard"

We were suppose to get 2-3 feet of snow but instead got 5 inches.  We went out in the snow to play and all Matthew wanted to do was play in the sand box.
The Fort Collins Discovery Museum is awesome!!!  Matthew loves the drums!

Future Rock Star?

How does he end up this way?

Where is Mamma suppose to fit?

Where's Matthew?

Were working on noting letting him climb in our bed in the morning because this is what happens... no room for us!

Rink

We often walk to the park behind our house and today we stopped and played in the skating rink near the park. Matthew loved kicking the soccer ball around and dilbert loved a good run.

GOAL!!!

A happy Dilbert

Parade

We took Matthew and Dilbert to the St. Patrick's day parade with my parents today. It was 80 here yesterday but was 40 today so we froze our tails off.

"Big Snow"

We got about 8 inches of snow recently.  Matthew couldn't wait to go out to the "Up Up" behind our house and play with his snowboard and also try to ski.

Getting ready to set off down the hill

And he's off.  He loves his helmet cover we brought him back as a gift from our most recent ski trip.

And now lets learn to ski
