A bit scarey

We live on a pond and we have tons of geese and ducks in our back yard.  We frequently have a huge fox that visits us too.  But recently we had a new visitor. Alex took a picture of him the other day.  I am not letting our kitty out anymore with out close supervision.

Photoshoot

Brianna and I are co-raising Vigo and we both really enjoy taking pictures.  The other day we got together and took a few pictures of Vigo.  Below are a few of my favorite.

No photo shoot would be complete without an out take or two.  Here we caught Vigo jumping off the pillow.

Matthew's first solids

To say that Matthew didn't like rice cereal, cream of wheat, or oatmeal, but he sure did like his first real solid food.... Sweat potatoes.  Now all we have to do is working on getting as much in his mouth as we do on his face.

Like Mother like Son

For those of you who know me you know that I love penguins.  My mom gave me this great penguin toy for Matthew.  Up until now I've enjoyed playing with it more than he has,  but now that he can sit up on his own he loves to play with it too.

I'm so proud of my little guy.... sitting up all by him self at only 5 months.  How fast they grow.

naughty puppy

Vigo always sits next to me while I get ready in the morning.  The other day when I was done getting ready, I noticed that I had dropped my brush but I didn't pick it up.  A few minutes later I was in the kitchen getting breakfast when I heard a funny noise.  Below is what I found.

The other day I threw a burp cloth toward Vigo and it landed on his nose.  He just stood there for what seemed like forever not moving.  Silly puppy!

My silly boys

I tried to take some pictures this morning of Matthew and vigo with some new fabric that I bought... but they didn't wan to cooperate.

"ooohhhh  that looks fuzzy.... I want it......."

Ever since Matthew discovered his legs and feet, taking pictures of him has been a lot more difficult.

My pretty sweet vigo and his huge new snuggle buddy.

Few More Pictures.

I took a few more pictures of Matthew after his nap the other day but then lost the SD card.  I finally found it today.  Here are a few of the shots.

Vigo really wanted to help and play with Matthew... He kept trying to lick Matthew's face.

"I love you so much Matthew!"

Such a sweet face!

5 Months Old

Matthew turned 5 months old this weekend.  I haven't had much time lately to take any good pictures of my little guy so this morning he was in a good mood so I tried to snap a few shots.

I got Matthew dressed to take some shots of him with clothes on but by they he was really tired and wouldn't cooperate.  So being a good mom I stopped and put him down for a nap and two hours later he is still sleeping.  I guess posing for photos is tough work.

Fun in the Snow

In the fun of the big snow yesterday I dressed Matthew up in his over sized snowsuit and took him out in the snow.  He giggled when the snow flakes hit his face and he was fascinated by the geese when they would fly overhead.  I made snow balls and sprinkled snow in front of him and he just thought it was great.

Nice Weekend

After the hustle and bustle of the holiday's I was really glad to have a weekend to just sit at home, do laundry, clean the house and enjoy the company of family.

Alex's Dad was finally able to come out and meet his Grandson.  Don't they look a lot alike?

Matthew and Grandpa Kaplun have really enjoyed each other's company!  Lots of smiles and hugs to go around.

A big winter storm moved in last night and so far we have already gotten over a half a foot.  Around lunch time I heard sirens and looked out in the back yard....  Rescue crews were in our pond trying to save a dog that had fallen in and couldn't get out.  After they saved the dog the crew swam around in the pond and seemed to be practicing rescue maneuvers.  It was a fun scene to watch.  I hope the dog got a warm bath when it got home.  (you can see the head of divers in the open spot in the pond on the left)

Vigo is back with us this week and he and I had fun playing in the snow.  He loves this Kong toy I got him.  We only use it in the snow and he throws it around and thinks it is just the coolest toy.

Alex thought the sweater I put on him was really stupid... but I got it for super cheap and I just couldn't resist putting it on him just once.   Not that he needs it to stay warm though,he's constantly running.

Even in the snow Vigo follows commands.  I told him to sit and sit he did.  Brrrrrr...

Vigo is a real snuggle bug.  Whenever I am on the floor he has to be right next to me.  Matthew is really getting in to textures and loves garbing Vigo's fur.

Thankfully Vigo doesn't seem to mind being loved on by Matthew.

Always learning and Matthew's buddy

I've found out quickly as a new mom that I learning something new about being a parent every day.  Matthew likes to constantly be held.  But sometimes I just have to put him down to get something done... bathroom, feed myself etc.    I have been trying to put him on his play matt or in the sing or in the ultrasaucer.  All of these will pacify him for about 3 minutes.  Then I finally watched as several babysitters put him on the ground on a blanket and one toy and he played happily forever.  Goes to show that some times more is not always better.  I wish I would have figured this out a few months ago.

And of course Vigo absolutely loves Matthew being on the floor.  Vigo things Matthew is the sweetest thing and loves to snuggle up to him and tries sometimes to lick him to pieces.  Matthew never seems to mind Vigo's stinky breath.

Not Yet

Matthew is just over 4 1/2 months old now.  I tried to give him some rice cereal....  I started like is recommended by giving him some in a bottle and he seemed to like that well enough.  Then I made some as a cereal and tried to spoon it to him.  Below is what I got.

Imagine very loud crying through a mouth of rice cereal....

"I'm really serious mom.... stop taking pictures of me and get this stuff out of  my mouth!"

Either he really doesn't like rice cereal or he is just not ready for solid stuff.  Maybe he has issues with texture like his mom?  Either way I think we will wait awhile for trying it again and stick with booby juice for now.   : )
