Bubble baths Rock!!

Matthew usually doesn't like bubble baths but the other night he was excited to have a good old fashion bubble bath.
"Mommy, look Bubbles!"

What a smile!

He wanted to see bubbles on his legs.

"hmmm, what other toys do I need?"

Baby bunny

I was taking Dilbert out to "DYB" when I saw this tiny baby bunny in our walk way. I called Matthew out to see it.
Little baby bunny on our walk way
He didn't seem to be sick.  I hope it does OK.
Afterwards Matthew ran inside and right up to Dilbert yelling over and over again: "Dilbert I pet Easter bunny!"

Owls!!

I love the wildlife I see in Fort Collins.  We frequently see foxes and coyotes in our back yard as well as bald eagles.  Every spring there is a family of great horned owls that breed near our house.  I just love looking at the cute babies.

It was a very windy day.  Momma and the babies are nestled in against the wind.

The baby owls.  Aren't they cute?

Music

This past weekend we went to hear a friend's daughter perform.  Matthew just loved listening and watching the kids.

Even more than watching... he loved playing the bongos afterwards.

melting snow

Matthew insisted on getting a final few minutes in on his snowboard.
He kept asking me why he wasn't moving.  Silly boy.
He also insisted on "hiking" with poles in the snow

Fun in the snow

Matthew loves snow and one if his favorite things to do is shovel it with his mini shovel.

Snow, snow and more snow!

This past week we got his with a killer spring snow storm that lasted 3days (unusual for us).  By the end we had about 20+ inches.   Great for the snow back and to ease the drout but its a bit chilly for April.

Alex's very snow covered car.
This is where I usually relieve Dilbert,
and there is normally a two foot step off.
Lots of snow

Silly

My little guy is so silly some times. During bath time last night he started walking his feet up the walls of the tub and then diving down back in.  What a goof!  And yes the water is green... he loves his color tablets.

Really more snow?!?

We had yet another day of snow yesterday! When we got home from work Dilbert just sat in the back yard playing with his big plastic container and getting covered in snow. What a goof!

I guess he isn't cold but seems uncomfortable to me.

Dilbert is so loved

Dilbert has to come to work with me since day one at my new job (since dilbert was 4 months old). They weren't so sure what to make of him at first but he is so completely loved now!! Recently our work asked for pictures from clinics showing what keeps us happy. We decided to take a picture with Dilbert.  We are all sitting on his bed in my office.

L to R: Jen, Michelle, Dilbert, Me, Suzanne, Kat, Hector and Kit

Dilbert is especially fond of Hector and I think the feeling is Mutual!
This morning I turned around and saw Hector giving Dilbert a huge hug.

My bun in the oven

I had my fourth ultrasound about a week ago.  I'm old and high risk so I have to have a lot of frequent Ultra Sounds to make sure our little boy is growing alright.   He is growing well and is nearly 2 pounds now.  Below are some pictures of our most recent US pictures.

Yep... there is no doubt that it is a boy!  Both this guy and
Matthew  loved showing off their "package" to us on Ultra Sound.

Profile Picture

This is my favorite one.  His feet are completely over his head.

April in Colorado

The weather man have called for two big blizzards recent.  Each one was a joke and we only got a few inches each time.  Today we were suppose to have rain and when I woke up we had almost a foot of snow on the ground.  WTF!!  It is very typical for us to get most of our snow in March in April so I wasn't that shocked but some warning would have been helpful.

Surprise snow storm... the drive in to work

Having fun with Mom at work.  He is reading books on Dilbert's bed in my office.
It's all dark because I was trying to get him to take a nap...

He was asleep before we even left the parking lot to go home, around 2pm.
Mamma's work is exhausting.

the snow by mid-afternoon - nearly a foot of snow.

How quickly things change

I took Matthew swimming this past weekend - he is a real fish.  He was so excited to have his new suit on before the swim and then.....

In the family changing room - "look at my new suit!!!"
Thank you Grandma Johns!

We went from super happy to tantrum from hell
over getting dressed again.  Ended up going
home half dressed.  It's hard to be two.

Guitar playing toddler

Matthew loves anything musical.  We go to the Discovery museum a lot so that he can play the drums and the other musical instruments.  He is so cute because now he closes his eyes and sings like a "rock star".  Unfortunately he seems to have mom and dads ability to sing...

Rocking it out...  he says that the Frisbee under his foot is his drum.

Yes, he is on the table, but in this case it is his "stage" so it was allowed

after his guitar performance he wanted to put
his undies on over his PJ's.  Silly boy!

Big Boy Room

I finally finished Matthew's "Big Boy Room", now if only I could get him to sleep all night in it.

The border makes the room look super cute!

Dinosaurs abound in his new room

The fun of a Coconut

This past weekend my parents brought over a coconut and we had a great time with matthew showing him how to drill a hole in it to get the milk out.  He loved hammering it to opening it.  We then chopped it up and I made coconut brownies with coconut icing.  Yum!

He loves tools already - Drilling open the coconut

Pouring out the milk.... Dilbert was just as interested as Matthew

The best part... Hammering it open!

The Yummy inside

His first bite of fresh coconut.

Must be love

You know you love your guide dog puppy when you spend your whole Sunday morning making a Styrofoam block for your car just so your puppy can look out the window while in the car. Matthew had a lot of fun helping me make it and Dilbert seems to be happy being able to look out the window..... Not that I know that he was sad before but....

The mess I made while making the final product in the  middle

X-rated Dilbert

I debated long and hard about whether i should post this or not but I finally decided it was too funny not to post.

I feel like many of my stories of Dilbert misbehaving all start off this way..... I was giving Matthew a bath when I turned around and....... Dilbert was sitting behind me with a plastic toy in his mouth. Apparently he got into a bag of things from my bachelorette party over 10 years ago that we're in the back of our open linen closet. I had no idea this stuff was even still in there. This is the handle of a lint roller...

Dilbert and the regional guide dog meeting in Denver

Poor Dilbert continues to struggle with near constant ear infections.  This past one was so bad that his canal was actually bleeding.  He was acting sick and would barely move all day.   I finally took him to the vet and they said that the reason he keeps getting infections is because he has bad allergies.  That can be a Guide Dog Death Sentence.  GDB will career change puppies quickly for bad allergies.  So we have him on Benadryl, medicine for his ear and we are changing his food.  Hopefully this will help.

A very sleepy sick puppy at work.

Yesterday was our annual regional Guide Dog meeting in Denver.  It is always a fun event and I love seeing a room full of 30+ puppies all calm and quiet.  Amazes me every time.  Dilbert after his last eval was placed on food reward protocol for EVERYTHING and got a re-eval at the meeting.  He got a "much improved".  Yeah!!  All my hard work is paying off.    Below are some pictures from the meeting.

"Hi everyone... aren't I cute?"

Practicing go to bed

Dilbert being a good boy for a change

3 of the notorious "D" liter.  Dilbert, Denmark and Dusky (L to R).
Denmark was career changed at the meeting for being
excessively attached to his raiser.

Femi - based on the color of her nose she may carry some chocolate genes.

Dilbert gets some loving from John to try and get him to "settle"

If an ear rub won't work, try a foot rub.

We talked a lot about rewarding puppies for calm behavior.
This career changed dog has the relaxed thing down!
