This and that

On Sunday our host family was busy and couldn't fix us lunch like they normally do. So Alex and I went to one of our favorite fried chicken chains in central and south America. We fell in love with Pollo Compero when we were hiking in Peru.

Gotta love soft serve ice cream!

While were were there I just couldn't help sneaking this picture of this little old lady. Isn't she just the cutest thing ever?!?

The owner of ICA (our school) has a golden retriever named Dolly that on occasion visits the school. We of course, missing the guide dogs puppies terribly, just can't leave her alone! She is so remarkably sweet but doesn't understand "that's enough" in English.

You aren't giving him food are you Alex?

Dolly shows us her most adorable face to try and get a treat.

I want to thank everyone who has been sending thoughts of good weather our way! We have had three days now with very little rain! Today was still only in the low 60's but it was sunny most of the day!! We bundled up and sat all afternoon at a cafe patio that overlooked the central park and studied. The afternoon clouds did finally make us cold enough that we just had to go to this awesome cafe called Cafe Luna and get hot chocolate. What a tough life we lead!

The only bummer about today is that we finally broke down and did laundry. I guess we could just take our clothes to a Launderia like all the other gringos, but then we would miss out on the fun experience of hand washing our clothes in freezing cold water on a stone wash board. Sorry, no pictures, my hands were way to cold and wet to stop and take a picture. Gotta love it!!
